How do you play Paatal?

Answer seven questions a day, 25 seconds each. Any correct answer scores, but common answers keep you near the surface and rare ones sink you deeper. Each realm of Paatal is 1,000 metres; a perfect dive reaches 7,000 m.

Can I answer in Hindi?

Yes. Type in English, Hindi in Roman letters (Hinglish), or Devanagari. The questions can be switched to Hindi with the toggle at the top.

When does the daily quiz reset?

A new dive starts every day at midnight India Standard Time.

Privacy policy

In short: Paatal never asks for your name, email or phone number. Last updated 13 October 2026.

What is kept in your browser

A random device ID, created the first time you play, so the game can remember today's progress. It says nothing about who you are.
Your chosen language, Hindi or English.

Both live in your browser's local storage. Paatal itself sets no cookies. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes them.

What is kept on our servers

Your answers, against that device ID: what you typed, which answer it matched, the points it scored and how long it took.
The text of answers that did not match, so missing right answers can be added. This is not linked to any device.

What it is used for

Remembering your dive's progress and showing your score.
Working out how rare each answer is and where you stand among other players, only ever as totals.
Improving the answer lists and the matching.
Preventing abuse, such as answers sent too fast and too often.

We do not sell your data, or hand it to anyone for advertising.

Service providers

The site runs on a cloud hosting service, and data is held in a managed database service in the Singapore region. Like any website, the hosting service briefly processes your IP address and technical logs to deliver pages and keep the site secure. These providers handle data on our behalf, only to run the service.

Fonts and images are served from this site itself; nothing is sent to outside trackers or analytics services while you play.

Sharing your score card

The score card image is drawn on your own phone or computer. It goes nowhere unless you send it to WhatsApp or another app yourself, and that app's own policy then applies.

Advertising

Paatal shows no ads today. If ads are introduced, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), or opt out of many vendors at aboutads.info. This policy will be updated before any ads appear.

How long data is kept

Game records are kept for as long as they are useful for statistics and past days' results. You can break the link between your device and its past records at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Your rights

Under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see, correct or delete data about you. Because we hold no names or contact details, we will need your help to identify which records are yours.

Children

Paatal is suitable for all ages and asks no one for personally identifying information.
